What is Binary Number

A binary number system is a numbering sytem in which any number is expressed in a base-2 format or the binary numbring system is a method of numerical expression in which only two symbols are used: usually zero (0) and one (1).

The base-2 or the binary number system is also seen as a number system of positional notation with the radix of the number two. Each digit is referred to as a bit, or a binary digit. Due to the easy and simple implementation in the space of digital circuits and electronic diagrams using logic gates, this system is widely adopted by almost all of the latest systems and also the computer related machines and devices, as the most useful system of use, over various other human techniques of communication, due to its ease of use and simplicity of the language.

What is Octal Number

The octal (or the numeric system denoted by radix 8) numbering system, or oct for short, is the base-8 number system, and uses the digits 0 to 7, which means the number 10 in octal system represents 8 in decimal and 100 in deicmal system represents 64 in octal system.

The Octal Numbering method consists of a base-8 and uses only the numbers between 0 and 7. This Octal/Oct numeral system is also very widely used in the sectors of computer and its related applications.

Most of the computing system of the relatively modern generation use 16/32/64 bit word, which is again sub-divided into multi 8 bit words. We can also see the usage of the octal system in the aviation sector , where the octal numbering system and the numerals are used to represent code.
